Patrons

The Henry Allen Trust are delighted to introduce our amazing patrons, who not only lend their name to our cause but also their hearts. They stand alongside our trustees and amazing volunteers to help create awareness of childhood cancer and fund raise to enable us to achieve our mission and spread a little Henry's Happiness.

Teenage Patron – Bailey McConnell:

So Yeah I became involved with little Henry when I found out Dawn and my mum knew each other from a long time ago.

A close friend of our family had been diagnosed with Cancer and I see what she went thru with all the Chemo and tests...she sadly passed away and it was horrible.. so I sorta knew what cancer could do to you which alot of people my age don't really know...anyway...

When my mum told me that Henry had cancer... I was shocked that someone so small could have this horrible disease. I was asked to perform at one of the local events held for The Henry Allen Appeal and it was there I met Henry and was blown away by how strong he was ...and to be fair how Happy he was ...He truly inspired me as a teenager and I realised how lucky I was ...so I wanted to help raise awareness in kids my age..

I then performed at most events that where put on for Henrys Charity and I loved seeing Henry's face smiling when he was well enough to attend.

When Henry passed away I was actally devastated. ..I know I was only 14 when he passed and I just couldn't understand why ???... So I asked my mum to ask Dawn that if she ever needed anyone of my age to help raise awareness for young children with cancer then I would help. I performed at Henrys celebration of life which was very hard but I kept it together for Dawn and Mark as it was a very emotional day...

After Henry's passing I was asked to be a teen patron by Mark and Dawn and I will now continue to make the Henry Allen trust one of my main priorities by helping other poorly children be happy even if it's for a few hours of my time...I recently visited a young boy who was very poorly and thanks to the Trust was able to see him smile by making his wish come true...makes you feel amazing and im sure little H will be looking down smiling too x Dawn and Mark are amazing and I'm defo Team Henry all the way...He's my official Superhero...
