Coronation Champion 400x400 1

Milton Keynes based charity The Henry Allen Trust are proud to announce that their director and co-founder Dawn Allen has been awarded and recognised as one of the five hundred Coronation Champions.

Danielle Faid from Team Henry nominated Dawn for the Royal Voluntary Coronation Champions Awards back in March and spoke from her heart about what an inspiration Dawn is, how Dawn has helped the local community and her dedication and commitment in supporting children, teens, young adults and their families battling childhood cancer.

The nomination touched the hearts of the judging panel at the Royal Voluntary Service, and they contacted the BBC and requested Dawn was nationally recognised for all her hard work.

Dawn was filmed at Milton Keynes College whilst she was giving a presentation to the students about The Henry Allen Trust and volunteering, not knowing that this would be shown on BBC1’s Morning Live TV Show.

The Henry Allen Trust’s Director and Co-Founder Dawn Allen added: “To say that I was left utterly speechless and shocked that I was recognised is an understatement. This award goes out to all Team Henry volunteers, past, present, and future. Henry Dylan Allen this is for you. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart and hope, dream and believe that anything is possible “

The Coronation Champions Awards recognise a diverse group of volunteers and individuals from different backgrounds and communities across the UK from a range of causes.

Volunteers and individuals over the age of 14 who may have overcome adversity or discovered creative ways to support their local communities within the last five years were nominated in a number of different categories.
